Hi, everybody --

My apologies for the lack of recent updates, the new year has been pretty busy on the Archaia company side, including a lot of conventions (including overseas trips to France for the festival at Angouleme and the first Middle East Film & Comic Con in Dubai). Thankfully there's a bit of a breather the next couple of months, so I'll be looking to finish up art and rewrites for the Known World History/source book and post that, and do some more playtesting on the 2nd edition of the RPG. For the website I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate links and feeds from Goodreads. If I'm lucky art on Besieged may resume in June. More soon, I hope!

It'll be nice to hear some words again on Besieged, or the 2.0 RPG (mostly because I want to know what happens to Artesia, and want to play 2.0-- since 1.0 had moments of 'THis book will be forthcoming).

I too like the 1st ed. but think it needed to be simplyfied and streamlined.

Regarding 3.5 influence, i too believe that its not a good fit to Artesia's themes, and something the fan base is not identifyed with. I don't see how anything level based could do Artesia source material justice.

On the contrary, i am of the opinion that BRP and even Pendragon influencies are a great for an astoundishing Artesia RPG. I hope that is the case. I think it would be more funcional and get more aceptance

What i find confusing are the inspirational sources for the new rpg rules. Is it BRP/RQ or is it 3.0/3.5? And just to make that clear (maybe i am just too tired atm) : 3.0/3.5 is a reference to DnD, right?! If so, this is a big damper on my enthusiasm for the new game. I loathe DnD. I really hope that if DnD is a source for inspiration, that it is very tangential. RQ/BRP on the other hand is a very good system for the more realistic and gritty sort of fantasy. I can totally see that for Artesia.
Also, good to hear that there will be work on the comics. Artesia addicts need their fix...asap ;)
